Travelled from J's home to Tsawwassen to catch BC ferry to Victoria's Swartz bay, on Van Island. We landed around noon and headed to the Butterfly conservatory..then onward to go whale watching.
Victoria BC B&B offered a beach side view of the ocean. Described as Cordova Bay Beach...the calm morning sun was a great greeting to our 4 day ferry hop of the Gulf Islands.
Day 2: We
next headed to Saltspring Island first from Swartz Bay for a day of discovery. These rocks were fun to climb on and we saw a couple of sea lions and harbour seals. Saltspring is more built up and I understand why folks like to settle here...close to Victoria or Van... Property costs very high.Common site in the waters around the islands... different sizes of ferries travel between islands and we learned their schedules quickly.
We had an unlimited ferry travel pass for 4 days and it was well worth the money!!Jannah searched out tidepools, driftwood and rock viewing.
