Welcomed Saturday Hike.....

B & I went for a small ..."Grey Bruce Waterfall" hike.. to 2 of our local places. (hey, it must be officially FALL!) I've lived in this region for 26 years and had never been to either of them. How sad is that..?

I love fungi. I got to meet some differing common species to our area. The white variety was found at the "Indian Falls" slightly north of OS...but in town still.

The fairy mushrooms were hidden in the dense undercover and I have learned from Jannah to stop, every so often on any walk, to really look at what's there. Delightful really. These were found at Walter's Falls.
Bruce found this one and it's colour, & various shapes are exquisite... if you'd like to examine any of these photo's close up...just click on them and have a look!
I have a great collection of the dried variety of this fungi ..have actually made molds from them for porcelain replication.. and this one along the trail was still alive and fresh... it actually twinkled with dew and looks tropical. It measured , approx, 12" x 10" Posted by Picasa
