One thing about Yelapa...there's no flat surface. Stairs, ramps, slopes, rock levels etc all over the place. Built on the incline of a Mountain ...many cobblestone roads intersect and head off to little cambrio's... for shopping...veggies, hardware, clothing, fish stores.
The beach is located on the opposite side of the bay...from where we stayed.
We walked there once to see it...and once was enough.

Here is the comparison to Puerto Vallarta.... beach... few folks...and lots of beach...
In the distance you can see the Palapa's of the only "resort" ... Corona is very big...everywhere...
