More Arbutus
-"googled"...
-arbutus grows within 8 K of the ocean, on rocky cliffs... overlooking the ocean.
-Only native broadleaf evergreen in BC.
-Likes to be in area's that lack moisture and have great drainage
-Does not like shade
-thin outer bark peels back and off to expose an inner smooth bark
-cinnamon inner bark is rich in a source that is used for tanning hides.
-also known as Madrone or oriental strawberry tree
-has dense urn shaped white flowers in May
-fruit is berry like, 7 mm across, reddish orange
