This is my summer project... well, one of them. While Bruce attends his UofW course...I've been busy refinishing our oak floor in the kitchen..
It's actually gone quite well even with a few moments of fear and trepidation!! The cats hate me ...as I made the females stay outside during the drying of the 4 coats of varathane!! (over 3 days)
Here are a few "views" and the flash has created a wierd colour looking either really light or dark...and the floor is a warm honey oak... with clear varathane.

The floor looks 5 years younger!! Maybe I should apply some to my face?? hmmm
I had a lovely birthday...cake and all!! yummy... G you've made me eat small pieces inbetween my salads!!! J called, S called, J called...and it was good to speak to all... :) Thanks G for the "port"...yummy too.

Here is another of my projects... the gardens.. The 'deck garden'. Hosta's, Purple Sand Cherry, Lilies, and Trumpet flower on fence...with wandering Clematis behind...purple coneflowers, bachelor buttons, lavendar, lungwort, tiny rose bush, astilbe, (white and red), lily of the valley and sedum.

I had a lovely birthday...cake and all!! yummy... G you've made me eat small pieces inbetween my salads!!! J called, S called, J called...and it was good to speak to all... :) Thanks G for the "port"...yummy too.

The "gazingoutback" garden, Bridal veil spirea, raspberry spirea, purple sand cherry, euoynemous, hosta, solomons seal, jacob's ladder, day lily, coriopsis,blue campanula, white campanula (from L's plant for my mother's passing) pontentila,wegelia, sedum, clematis on wall, rainbarrel, and honeysuckle vine on fence. In front, dailia, asters, yellow something, and vinca.

That was a lovely post! I'm so glad to get to see the pics, and btw, that floor looks GREAT!! Accurate color or not, it's still gorgeous.
And Happy belated Birthday, to both you and S, I'm afraid I don't know the correct days, and I'm SO BAD at birthdays.. :( I'm probably not even going to notice my own this year, since I will be in PG.
